Our Risk teams develop comprehensive processes to monitor, assess, and manage the risk of expected and unexpected events that may have an adverse impact on the firm. Risk professionals execute critical day-to-day risk management activities, lead projects, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of a robust risk management program. Effective coordination with executive management, business units, control departments and technology is critical for success.
RISK TESTING GROUP (RTG)
The Risk Testing Group (RTG) is a multidisciplinary group of quantitative and financial experts at Goldman Sachs with presence in New York, Frankfurt, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Warsaw and Mumbai. RTG is responsible for independent oversight of all financial and non-financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal expectations. The group’s primary mandate is the independent review of data, processes, controls, qualitative models and systems that mainly cover Credit, Market, Operational and Liquidity risk stripes/types.
RTG is responsible for:
- Identifying potential material errors or omissions related to data accuracy,
- Conformance with regulatory instructions, and
- Ongoing effectiveness of key controls
RTG is looking for a VP to work on challenging projects that entail performing analysis to ensure holistic risk management practices. The role will involve interactions with multiple stakeholders across the firm and regulators across different geographies and offers exposure to financial products, risk management tools, quantification techniques and a wide-ranging technology stack.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop an understanding of the firm's financial reporting, regulatory reporting, accounting policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Perform independent reviews of accounting treatments, financial statements, and regulatory reporting processes to evaluate accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory expectations.
- Assess the completeness and accuracy of data supporting the risk data aggregation and regulatory reporting in line with BCBS 239 principles.
- Evaluate the design and ongoing effectiveness of key controls supporting financial and regulatory reporting processes.
- Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and present results to senior management committees and regulators.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Accountant or Bachelors/Masters in Finance or equivalent (such as Corporate Finance).
- Knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory reporting, IFRS accounting standards, and the control environment expected within a banking institution.
- Experience and knowledge of key aspects of finance and accounting commensurate with a global banking institution.
- Understanding of financial risk management (credit, market, operational and liquidity risk) is an advantage.
- Minimum B2 level in English
