Role Overview: This position is for an Associate within the Surveillance Compliance team in Brazil. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring transactions across Goldman Sachs' trading desks and developing scenarios to prevent market abuse, money laundering, and terrorist financing.
Main Responsibilities:
- Trade Monitoring: Execute daily monitoring of transactions across multiple trading desks to ensure regulatory adherence;
- Scenario Optimization: Design, implement, and refine surveillance models to identify potential market manipulation and financial crimes;
- Global Collaboration: Liaise with global trade surveillance units to align local practices with international standards;
- Investigations: Lead the investigation, identification, and escalation of potential cases of market misconduct or money laundering to senior management;
- Regulatory Reporting: Assist in preparing reports for local regulators (CVM/Bacen) regarding suspicious activities.
Prerequisites:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree;
- Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience in Financial Institutions, preferably within Compliance or Risk Management;
- Language: Fluency in English (both written and oral) is mandatory for global interaction;
- Analytical Mindset: Strong investigative skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving;
- Technical Expertise: Previous experience with surveillance systems such as SMARTS, Actimize, BTCA, or SAGE;
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python and VBA is highly desirable to automate surveillance tasks;
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Brazilian financial regulations (CVM and Bacen).
