YOUR IMPACT

As an experienced Vice President within the Public Investing (PI) Management and Strategy team, you will serve as a critical architect of the platform’s future. Public Investing is the primary investing engine of Goldman Sachs, overseeing over $3 trillion in assets under supervision (AUS) across Fixed Income, Fundamental Equity, Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS), and Multi-Asset solutions.

In this leadership capacity, you are responsible for the strategic execution of the PI business mandate. You will move beyond analysis to own the delivery of high-stakes initiatives, specifically focusing on the rapid scaling of our ETF and SMA (Separately Managed Account) platforms. You will act as the primary owner for leadership, navigating complex internal and external hurdles to ensure the product roadmap is executed with precision and speed.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role requiring a seasoned leader who can operate at the intersection of investment strategy, product development, and operational transformation.

Strategic Execution & Transformation

  • Roadmap Oversight: Lead the end-to-end execution of the Public Investing product roadmap, with a current, primary focus on the expansion of Active ETFs and Customized SMA solutions.
  • Strategic Transformation: Drive large-scale business transformation initiatives to modernize the PI platform, leveraging AI and digital automation to improve speed-to-market for new investment vehicles.
  • Remediation: Identify and resolve structural, regulatory, or operational "bottlenecks" that impede business growth. Act as the escalation point to unblock cross-functional friction between investment teams, technology, and distribution.

Business Management & Partnership

  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Partner directly with the Global Heads of Public Investing Businesses (Fixed Income, Fundamental Equity, QES, QIS) and Business COOs to translate high-level vision into actionable business plans.
  • Cross-Divisional Synergy: Lead collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance to ensure the infrastructure for product growth is robust, scalable, and compliant.
  • KPI & Performance Governance: Establish and oversee the metrics for "success" across strategic initiatives, providing firm leadership with transparent reporting on progress against financial and commercial goals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: 10-12+ years of experience in Asset Management, Transformation, Operations, Management Consulting, or Corporate Strategy, with a proven track record of executing complex business initiatives.
  • Execution Mindset: A "delivery-first" approach with the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Leadership & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior Partners and Managing Directors across different functional areas.
  • Problem Solving: Advanced ability to operate in ambiguity and navigate the "gray space" of a global organization to find creative solutions to institutional hurdles.
  • Communication: Ability to distill complex strategic concepts into executive-level presentations and briefing materials for Board-level consumption.

THE CULTURE

Goldman Sachs is a culture of excellence, integrity, and transparency. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to mentor junior talent (Analysts and Associates), fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that values "the power of the team" over the individual. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about our craft, our clients, and building sustainable, long-term success.
