Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the world’s leading asset managers with over $2 trillion in assets under supervision. As a primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors, and individuals.

The Strategic Transformation Office (STO) oversees comprehensive, large-scale transformations. Our objectives are to enhance scalability, drive revenue growth, improve client experience, and elevate controls to optimize our operating platform. The group comprises three critical functions: (1) Product Management, (2) Design, and (3) Change Management.

Alternatives Product Management sits within the STO. Our product managers work closely with our investing businesses and Engineering teams to define our digital strategy, develop new technologies, and partner with third‑party technology providers. We guide products throughout the full lifecycle—including research, ideation, scoping, delivery, and refinement.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Product Manager who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environment to support our New Product launches. Alternatives Asset Management is a strategic growth area for the firm, representing a core component of our long‑term vision and commitment to providing innovative investment solutions for clients. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and expanding area of AWM by developing market‑intelligence materials and creating financial models for new and existing products.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Support and develop product strategy and roadmaps with stakeholders across the business
  • Assist in executing the product roadmap by writing user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for technology development
  • Partner with colleagues in investing teams, portfolio management, engineering, design, operations, and change management to ensure seamless execution
  • Monitor competitive practices and analyse end‑user feedback, identifying and developing solutions where needed
  • Engage and partner with third‑party vendors to ensure feedback is addressed and their product roadmaps evolve to support our business needs
  • Leverage analytics and data to inform product decisions
  • Break down larger product initiatives into smaller components while understanding dependencies
  • Participate in ideation, feasibility assessments, business‑case preparation, and overall product definition (feature lists and prioritisation)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–5 years of experience in Financial Services or product management within an agile environment
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and workshop‑facilitation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Ability to break down complex problems, document workflows, and communicate solutions clearly
  • Experience gathering requirements, defining features, and supporting product decision‑making with stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to work through technical or operational issues under time pressure
  • Understanding of agile ceremonies and backlog prioritisation; ability to support informed trade‑offs using user insights and market research
  • Ability to bring structure to ambiguous tasks and outline next steps
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across investing, engineering, and operations teams
  • Self‑motivated, comfortable following direction, and able to deliver quality work within deadlines
  • Willingness to learn system‑design best practices and partner with Engineering during testing and implementation
  • Commitment to integrity, high‑quality output, and continuous improvement
