Global Product Strategy is a growing and dynamic team located around the world who are responsible for overseeing, managing and shaping the investment product range for the Asset Management division, focused primarily on public markets. The team consists of Product Development, Product Strategy & Research, and ETF Product Strategy & Development who partner with each other and across Asset Management’s Client Solutions Group and Public Investing organizations to evaluate and shape investment strategy and design, differentiate product positioning using competitive intelligence, adhere to regulatory and governance requirements and establish go-to-market messaging and planning for new and existing products. The team serves all client segments across wealth, institutional, consultants, insurance, liquidity, and retirement channels. The team specializes in registered, pooled product vehicles mostly comprised of public securities but also helps facilitate and support initiatives for separately managed accounts, private funds, and public/private products. 

We are seeking an Associate to join Product R&D within the Client Solutions Group (CSG) in New York, focusing on ETF product development. CSG is responsible for global client strategy, capital formation, strategic partnerships, product strategy, and capital markets activities across the firm’s alternatives investments and public market investing platform.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

•    Play an active role in decisions around new ETF product development and updates to existing ETF products across equity, fixed income and alternative asset classes.
•    Conduct industry and competitive research on the ETF market to understand market positioning in the context of ETF market dynamics. Develop and deliver competitive intelligence to key stakeholders, monitor trends that may change or influence specific product opportunities, GSAM positioning, and contribute to the overall team strategy.
•    Leverage internal and external data sources (e.g., Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Simfund) and apply advanced techniques to build automated and scalable models to streamline processes, reduce legacy work, and enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
•    Contribute to strategic product development roadmaps and priorities across client segments following analysis of industry data; develop categorization frameworks and vetting processes for new products. 
•    Collaborate across teams to drive product design, including coordination with legal, tax, compliance, portfolio management and operations.
•    Create and disseminate ETF materials for platform updates, fund deep dives, and industry development snapshots. Work on multiple projects across team verticals including market research, marketing materials, internal collateral, and capital markets.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field, and three to five years of experience in a related role. 
•    SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses are required and will be sponsored by the firm if not already completed.
•    Knowledge of the ETF industry preferred, including familiarity with client channels, capital markets, competitive landscape, vehicle mechanics and infrastructure requirements through previous work experience.
•    Well-developed project management skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and multi-task appropriately, while maintaining extremely high standards. 
•    Proactive problem solver with a strong work ethic, strategic mindset, and commercial perspective. Able to craft unique solutions with limited guidance.
•    Strong technical skills including high level of proficiency in Microsoft tools; familiarity with industry data and vendors and advanced data and AI techniques. 
•    Effective interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and confidence of colleagues and clients, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, and collaborate well with others to meet team objectives.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
•    Entrepreneurial; comfortable in assuming varied responsibilities and going above and beyond to make work more commercially relevant

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
