Looking for a team-oriented individual who strives when their team succeeds. The individual will develop skills to cover hedge fund managers and allocators within the Asia Pacific region. Candidates need to be self-motivated, detail oriented, goal oriented and able to function in a high-stress environment. 

As a member of the Prime Services Capital Introduction team, you will play a key role in connecting hedge fund managers with institutional allocators in Japan. You will work closely with hedge fund clients globally, internal sales and trading teams, and regional stakeholders to support capital raising, relationship development, and client engagement initiatives. The role offers broad exposure across hedge fund strategies, allocator segments, and geographies, and provides the opportunity to develop into a trusted partner for both clients and internal stakeholders in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.

Prime Services Capital Introduction sits at the centre of Goldman Sachs’ hedge fund franchise, leveraging the firm’s global platform, deep relationships, and market expertise to support hedge fund clients in raising capital and expanding their investor base. We work with a wide range of institutional allocators, including pensions, insurers, sovereign entities, and family offices, helping them identify hedge fund investment opportunities and facilitating meaningful introductions across regions.

The team partners closely with Prime Brokerage, Sales & Trading, and other internal stakeholders across Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, and New York. Our culture emphasises collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and long‑term relationship building, offering team members the opportunity to gain regional exposure and develop a broad understanding of the hedge fund and institutional investor landscape in Asia. The role offers flexibility in scope, with responsibilities tailored to the experience, tenure, and demonstrated capability of the successful candidate, as well as the requirements of the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Primary coverage for Japan based allocators, helping allocators identify hedge fund investment opportunities and facilitating meaningful introductions across regions
  • Advise Asia hedge fund clients on their capital formation strategies, including firm positioning, product development, marketing materials and target allocators segments
  • Supporting capital introduction activities, coordinating roadshows, conferences, and related marketing initiatives 
  • Pitch and win new Prime Brokerage hedge fund mandates
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of hedge fund strategies, allocator preferences, and market trends to support effective client dialogue

We are open to this role being in Tokyo, Singapore or Hong Kong.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English is required
  • Experience in a client‑facing role within financial services, such as prime brokerage, capital introduction, institutional sales, hedge fund coverage, or related areas
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced, time‑zone‑intensive environment
  • Team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to hedge funds, institutional allocators, or alternative investment products
  • Experience supporting or participating in capital raising, client coverage, or relationship management activities
  • Regional Asia‑Pacific experience, or familiarity with cross‑border client coverage models
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset
