About Goldman Sachs Marketing
Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs comprises a global team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of a number of COE functions in areas such as Brand, Media, and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team collaborates to bring a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and our business offerings. Within Global Marketing sits the Global Banking & Markets marketing team, responsible for end-to-end marketing strategies and programs for the entirety of the division. Within Investment Banking, the team works across the firm’s M&A advisory and Capital Solutions businesses, leading integrated marketing strategies across messaging, brand, content, social, paid media, client engagement, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.
Role Summary
We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Associate to lead the editorial strategy driving the Investment Banking marketing team, reporting to the head of marketing for Investment Banking. The role will take a journalistic approach to content marketing – unpacking the latest macro & market trends, innovation in the capital markets, thematic trends across industries (i.e. AI, industrialization, healthcare) and the roles M&A and the capital markets plays to transform markets and the global economy. The role will involve driving the overall editorial strategy as well as hands-on execution: writing and editing thought leadership reports, newsletters, articles, video content, and more.
This role requires a deep understanding of and familiarity writing about financial markets, working collaboratively across business and marketing teams to create high-quality, commercial impactful content.
There is also an expectation that you are comfortable strategically and compliantly leveraging AI to improve and scale output.
Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with the head of IB marketing to define & execute IB editorial strategy
- Stay abreast of market trends, industry transformation, regulatory changes, etc. to inform content strategy
- Author and oversee the production of high-quality, timely content (thought leadership, articles, banker Q&As, client newsletters, social media, etc.) that highlights business innovation, drives client engagement and serves to both elevate the brand and drive lead gen
- Provide editorial guidance and oversight to ensure all content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance. Mentor junior writers and contribute to their professional development
- Work directly with head of IB marketing and other members of GBM marketing team (social, web, paid media) to initiate and develop comms/amplifications plans for content campaigns
- Work closely and develop relationships with bankers and subject matter experts to capture real-time insights and perspectives from client conversations, ensuring content is both authoritative, relevant and delivers the most authentic GS voice
- Collaborate with firmwide content & brand teams to ensure alignment with overall brand messaging and marketing objectives. Help elevate the IB brand through consistent, high-quality content that reinforces the team's expertise
- Work closely with head of IB marketing to measure & track marketing impact (i.e., email engagement, social metrics, etc.) as well as with senior leadership to optimize and evolve strategy on an ongoing basis
- Proactively seek out new ideas/mediums/agencies to improve and grow our multimedia content strategy

Ensure professional oversight of all projects, timely delivery of assets and a high standard of excellence on all projects
Qualifications
- Strong interest and knowledge of finance, markets, and financial history
- Experience with leveraging generative AI to drive productivity and increase output
- Proven track record of producing clear, compelling, and insightful written content on complex financial topics
- Demonstrated experience in extrapolating data and/or statistical insights into engaging written content
- 5-7 years of experience in either a content strategy/journalism role or a fast-paced markets or markets communications role
- Experience establishing and managing projects, processes and communications
- Detail-oriented problem-solver who is able to employ sound judgement, critical thinking and swift decision making with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and external clients/other stakeholders
- Impeccable attention to detail, particularly in written communications
- Fast learner, ability to leverage personal and organizational network to drive results
- Team-oriented, with confidence in interaction with multiple stakeholders and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; able to manage and execute effectively on multiple, time-sensitive projects, with keen sense of urgency
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
