Cloud Platform
As a GBM (Global Banking & Markets) Cloud Engineer at Goldman Sachs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the GBM technology landscape. This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with core engineer and GBM engineering teams, architecting and delivering cloud-native solutions that power our most critical trading and financial systems. You will be instrumental in developing solutions for broad adoption across thousands of engineers in GBM.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to researching, architecting, and building reusable cloud patterns. Your focus will be on enabling GBM teams to deploy and manage services in the public cloud with unparalleled safety, security, and efficiency. Given the extreme requirements of GBM – from ultra-low latency trading platforms to high-throughput data processing – you will be challenged to leverage and integrate best-of-breed cloud solutions and innovative architectural patterns. As we continue to modernize our services around cloud-native principles, you will directly contribute to a platform that empowers GBM engineers to innovate faster and deliver market-leading solutions.

We are seeking highly collaborative, creative, technical and intellectually curious engineers who are passionate about developing and implementing cutting-edge cloud computing solutions tailored for the demanding environment of GBM. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic DevOps culture, contributing to customer-centric product development that directly impacts our business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, acting as a creative collaborator who can evolve, adapt to rapid change, and thrive in a fast-paced, global environment. Your ability to translate complex GBM requirements into scalable, secure, and performant cloud architectures will be key to your success
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented cloud engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive set of ready-to-consume cloud patterns and solutions.
- Partner with application development teams to facilitate the migration of existing applications and development of new cloud-native applications on public cloud platforms such as AWS and hybrid architectures.
- Champion a frictionless and intuitive cloud onboarding experience for developers, accelerating their transition to public cloud.
- Define and prioritize product feature requests that align with the firm’s business and engineering priorities.
- Ensure all cloud patterns and solutions are built with a “security-first” mindset, adhering to the highest security standards and best practices.
- Drive the implementation of architectural best practices and solutions that are highly available, resilient and scalable.
- Collaborate with other platform teams and stakeholders to define the product’s roadmap and strategic vision.
- Provide engineering leadership with regular insights into the progress of customer migrations, reporting on key wins and roadblocks.
- Server as a key member of the customer advisory board to gather customer feedback on their cloud onboarding goals, challenges and feature requests.
- Take an active role in cloud governance, ensuring that any application deployed to production meets the standards set by the firm and fulfills applicable regulatory requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 yrs of relevant professional experience with deep expertise in public cloud services (preferably AWS).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or a Senior Technical Lead, with a focus on cloud-native development or platform engineering.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, and containerization (eg: Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with building secure, highly available and scalable systems especially in a large, enterprise-level organization.
- Experience with hybrid cloud solutions and integrating with on-premise systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
