The Core Engineering 

The Core Engineering builds and operates the platforms, applications, data solutions, models, and analytics that power critical processes for The Core divisions of the firm (e.g., Risk, responsible for the risk profile of firm activities; Controllers, responsible for the financial control and reporting obligations; Compliance, responsible for the firm’s compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks; Corporate Treasury, responsible for the firm’s liquidity, funding, balance sheet, etc.; and Human Capital Management, responsible for attracting, developing, and managing a global workforce). A centralized engineering structure in support of The Core enables a common platform model and operating framework that promotes consistent governance and scalable solutions, leveraging cloud, AI, and machine learning for innovation and efficiency. The Core Engineering’s 2,000+ engineers and strats deliver engineering, data, analytics, and quantitative capabilities within six business units: 

  • Metrics & Analytics Platforms: responsible for the measurement and management of the firm’s risk, capital, and liquidity for The Core functions

  • The Core Strats: responsible for the development and implementation of models and other quantitative methodologies, including the accuracy and attribution of modeled metrics

  • Financials & Reporting: responsible for facilitating the production of the firm’s financials and a wide range of reporting functions

  • Non-Financial Risk & Controls: responsible for non-financial risk and control processes

  • Enterprise Platforms: responsible for platforms and applications that support critical operational processes across The Core such as payments, people processes, and procurement

  • Shared Services: responsible for driving the adoption of consistent engineering strategy, including data platforms, cloud, and AI enablement, as well as the management of technology risk 

     

Job Description

Portfolio Strategy Engineering team is looking for world class software engineers to work closely with Corporate Treasury traders and help transform the funding trading systems to support the Firms growth plans. 

This is a front to back integrated group that explores new ideas of diversifying and scaling the funding position and execute on the strategy. The role will have extensive business integration with traders and core trading platforms stakeholder to conceive innovative ways to meet the business goals and exposure to the core risk management systems.

This is a leadership position to over the migration of multi-billion dollars of funding trades to best in class risk systems including front-to-back execution capabilities across the trade lifecycle. This is a business-critical service, resiliency and scalability are key aspects of the trading platforms together with the ability to work in close collaboration with traders, quantitative engineers, control functions and senior leadership. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to regional and global engineers
  • Partner with quantitative engineers, technical leadership across engineering and product leads to define and implement strategic trading migration
  • A hands on role, to develop credibility and trust across engineering team and able to de-block complex uplift and ongoing issues in the platform.
  • Own trade product definition and refinement to support diversification of portfolio composition

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 – 10 years of development experience in enterprise level systems, preferably business critical 
  • Experience in technical leadership across global development teams, including scalable SDLC practices
  • Experience in cloud architectural design, preferably AWS and multi-region availability
  • Experience defining and delivering AI-enabled products, platforms, or automated solutions
  • Experience leading large-scale platform modernization, transformation, or strategic change initiatives across multiple teams and business functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A strong appetite and openness to dive into proprietary systems, understand their inner workings, and strategically uplift them. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the financial services industry, with deep domain knowledge in Trading
  • Understanding of Funding Trading products across FX, Loans, Repo, Debt instruments
