Job Duties: Associate, Regulatory Controllers with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, New Jersey. Analyze and explain variances in Financial and Operational Combined Uniform Single (FOCUS) report for senior management. Assist and initiate in automation projects by utilizing multiple programming tools, such as Python, SQL, and MS Office suite, that help streamline current workflows to the standards set by different regulatory entities. Assist in the preparation of the monthly management review package and Financial and Operational Combined Uniform Single (FOCUS) report. Solve day-to-day analytical challenges leveraging various data analysis tools, such as Python, SQL, and MS Office suite. Review classifications for proper regulatory treatment across different type of trades and products. Prepare and review of daily net capital estimates. Prepare various reports to be sent to senior management summarizing specific Net Capital information. Drive initiatives and projects to improve processes, procedures and workflow. Prepare and analyze Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC’s monthly capital estimate vs. actual comparison. Prepare and review operational charges.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Accountancy, Finance, or related field, such as Financial Engineering and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Accountancy, Finance, or related field, such as Financial Engineering and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have one (1) year of experience (with Master’s degree) OR three (3) years of experience (with Bachelor’s degree) with: applying technical knowledge of accounting and financial reporting concepts that can be applied to working on various regulatory reports for numerous swap dealers, SEC & CFTC regulatory financial filings; coordinating projects related to the enhancement of controls and/or automation and conveying detailed complex financial reporting topics to key stakeholders at all levels; working on various types of financial products, particularly derivatives; and performing analytical and problem-solving tasks for financial reporting, including analyzing reporting balance fluctuations and solving reconciliation issues.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey-based position is $98,000 - $126,000.
