The Asset & Wealth Management Division also invests in corporate equity and corporate debt, real estate equity, and real estate debt and infrastructure worldwide.
Additionally, we provide asset management services to investments where Goldman Sachs has an interest. Consisting of hundreds of professionals in multiple offices around the world, our business operates on a global platform.
As an Associate in Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Japan Real Estate Investment team, this position will manage hard assets for the Japan portfolio and handle the investor relations. We seek a team player with strong communication skills and work ethic, with the ability to generate and develop relationships internally and externally. The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Asset Management
- Asset management of the hard assets’ portfolio and management and oversight of external vendors
- Prepare quarterly asset and equity valuations for internal and external reporting
- Underwriting of potential deals
- Manage relationship with operating partners
- Manage on-going lender-related activities (e.g. reserve and draw funding, recourse exposure analysis and lender reporting)
- Provide services including fund and investor reporting, compliance, asset performance monitoring, investment structuring and cash management
Investor Relations
You will serve as a key relationship manager to our institutional investors focused on fund raising, marketing, providing regular performance reports, responding to client inquiries, creating due diligence questionnaires. He or she will also work closely with internal teams (investing team, asset management team, other sales team) and external parties such as placement agents.
- Be up to date with macroeconomic conditions, as well as key drivers and fundamentals in major real estate asset classes
- Supporting senior members of the team in structuring investments and making investment and asset management decisions
- Lead and drive investor relations, fund raising, client service, redemption protection for our investors
- Interface with external parties, including coordination of 3rd party advisors, financiers, and operating partners, as necessary
- Communication and coordination with investment teams to ensure solid knowledge of Japan private products
- Preparation of internal / external presentation materials, along with project management
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 + years of experience in the Real Estate industry, or relevant experience
- Understanding of basic corporate finance (NPV, IRR, etc.)
- Native level in Japanese and Business level in English
- Strong analytical, organization, presentation, and project management skills
- Excellent skills in Excel/Word/PowerPoint
- Effective and professional communication skills
