We are seeking a strategic and client focused client portfolio manager focused on our OCIO business to support institutional clients such as corporate pension, public pension, endowments etc in developing and implementing investment programs under an OCIO model. This role requires deep investment acumen, strong communication skills and the ability to deliver tailored advice across asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction, and governance frameworks.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would become a member of the Lead Portfolio Management (LPM) Team within Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS), predominantly working on our OCIO efforts.
As an OCIO specialist, you will be responsible for delivering tailored investment strategies and managing long-term client relationships. You will be collaborating with Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, and external managers to construct and implement client portfolios.
Core responsibilities include:
Advise clients and oversee implementation of strategic and implementation issues, such as asset allocation, risk/performance management and evaluation, and research on investment management strategies
Lead day-to-day portfolio management including strategic asset allocation analysis, portfolio construction optimization, and customised liability-hedging & asset-liability matching analysis
In coordination with dedicated client relationship coverage, assist in client management including presenting results and Investment Committee reviews, addressing client investment needs, proposing new strategies aimed at enhancing portfolio characteristics
Support content development including client and prospect presentation books (including Investment Committee reviews), request for proposals, and other investment-related analyses
Engage actively, alongside sales colleagues, in new business development activity
Support investment and infrastructure development including asset allocation, portfolio monitoring and evaluation and asset class research
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field
Native level Japanese language and good command of business English
6+ years of relevant experience in Investment Consultancy in a Field Consultant capacity, Asset Management firm in portfolio management, asset allocation or Trust Bank for designing scheme and managing assets of institutional clients such as pension plans
Experience leading client discussions, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience leading and multi-tasking across internal and external projects in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented and meticulous, with strong quantitative and analytical skills
Intelligent, creative, with good problem-solving abilities
Strong understanding of portfolio investment metrics and characteristics (including that of fixed income and liability-hedging portfolios)
Expert in Excel and PowerPoint, including creating and providing detailed review of bespoke data analysis and presentations
