Who we are? 

GS ETF Inception is a group within our Global Banking & Markets – FICC and Equities Division that is centered on creating client solutions leveraging Goldman’s best-in-class investment IP as well as other strengths such as research, trading and derivative structuring. The team works collaboratively with both GS client coverage and ETF issuers themselves to enhance new or existing ETFs from multiple angles – whether income, total return, operating efficiency or tax outcomes. The team plays an integral role in delivering ETF enhancements from the ground up in an exciting environment. The team also defines both the vision and strategic direction of the businesses as it grows.

This is a high visibility role, backed by some of the senior-most leaders of the firm, and as such, will require creativity and drive to help deliver on an ambitious roadmap.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Be solution oriented and work in an agile environment to support a business team and its growth plan. Provide the business leadership team leverage across all functions including business and product strategy, as well as product development and client relations 
  • Develop in collaboration with research teams marketable investment strategies; specifically develop skills to use GS backtesting engine across asset classes to support these efforts
  • Create materials and updates for both clients and key internal stakeholders
  • Partner and liaise with key partners across Goldman’s structuring teams, including equities, fixed income and other asset classes
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic team working environment
  • Contribute to the development of business processes and structure
  • Role will focus on both client acquisition and project management / execution

Relevant skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree; 1-2 years of financial markets / investment strategy experience a plus
  • High degree of interest and enthusiasm for investments including Derivatives, Indices, Mutual Funds, or Exchanged Traded Products; ETF experience a very strong plus
  • Building analytical tools and automation of common tasks – programming skills are helpful
  • Analytical work such as backtesting, scenario analysis, or pricing for various derivative products. As such, experience or knowledge of options pricing and models is helpful but not required.
  • Presenting solutions to internal and external clients – strong communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) are helpful. Specifically, the ability to communicate technical concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand way. 
  • Self-starter. Ability to lead and project manage, think strategically, prioritize appropriately, and meet competing deadlines
  • Confidence and ability to interact effectively and present to senior divisional leaders

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
