Financial Crimes Compliance
Financial Crime Compliance has primary responsibility for the execution of the firm’s enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering, anti-bribery, and government sanctions compliance programs and, among other things, performs enhanced due diligence and government sanctions screening, as well as surveillance and investigations designed to identify potential terrorist financing, money laundering, bribery, market abuse, or other suspicious activity.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Within the Financial Crime Compliance division, the Metrics and Reporting team oversee established FCC governance model, produce centralized metrics and reporting, and monitor productivity and performance metrics. Metrics and Reporting professionals execute critical day-to-day compliance operations activities, lead projects and contribute to the ongoing advancement of our program. Regulators mandate our division to provide robust metrics, data-driven insight, and oversight of governance to ensure risk is being managed effectively. The Metrics and Reporting Associate will be responsible for regular reporting tasks, supporting in a variety of projects, driving process enhancements, and supporting technical roadblocks. The individual will need to work well independently and as part of a team, demonstrate attention to details and time management. Also, the role is ideal for collaborative individuals that can understand business needs and identify how to meet those needs through the design and implementation of processes and tools. Additionally, the workload will include fast turnaround of ad-hoc reports and other technical end user support for operations.
As a member of the Metrics and Reporting team, you will work closely with colleagues around the globe to:
- Apply advanced quantitative techniques and programming languages to analyze large datasets
- Design and develop analytical tools to visualize volumes and productivity, which will help drive business decisions
- Deliver risk insights through verbal and written content to key stakeholders across Goldman Sachs
- Create clear, concise, and insightful materials in support of Senior Management reporting
- Identifying, tracking, and monitoring organization wide risks
- Play a key role in Financial Crimes Compliance at Goldman Sachs by providing understanding of and insight into existing and emerging volumes and trends
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct data mining, analysis, visualization, and publishing of AML metrics reporting
- Innovate and design new analytics and visuals, leveraging internal and external programming languages and software to increase understanding and awareness of volume risk and trends
- Analyzing complex comparative data, preparing and presenting regional and global reports related to compliance risk assessments, and monitoring of compliance related issues
- Draft and maintain internal procedures/user guides
- Able to proactively problem solve and articulate key messages to a senior audience
- Strong ability to partner with global stakeholders and drive deliverables to completion
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies
- Motivated by learning and continuous improvement
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, form own judgment/opinions, provide insights and drive change
- Proactive with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work effectively with colleagues in other regional offices
- Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
- Strong academic background, preferably in quantitative fields such as mathematics, computer science, engineering or statistics
