The Sponsor M&A Group (SMAG) is a key team within the M&A department at Goldman
Sachs, focused on covering financial sponsor clients and their portfolio companies. We cover 
clients across all industries and provide M&A, financing and other corporate finance solutions 
utilizing dedicated resources from within SMAG.

SMAG has built a leading Secondary Advisory business that provides strategic advice to sponsor 
clients on a range of general partner (GP) led secondary transactions, including Single and 
Multi-Asset Continuation Funds, Strip Sales, Tender Offers and other related structures. The 
Secondary Advisory business is fully integrated within M&A and Sponsor / Industry Coverage enabling 
the team to provide clients with differentiated insight and service. The team has unique experience 
in structuring and executing GP-led transactions, having helped develop many of the technologies 
utilized in today’s market.


Analyst (Secondary Advisory)

Roles and Responsibilities include:
•     Working with senior professionals to execute secondary transactions during all phases of the 
deal process
•     Preparing presentation materials for prospective clients
•     Conducting due diligence of prospective transactions through a variety of financial / 
industry analyses
•     Assisting in the preparation of transaction marketing materials (e.g., financial models, 
investor presentations, confidential information memorandums, process letters)
•     Assisting with the logistics of the capital raising and investor due diligence processes 
(online data room, meetings / calls, investor requests, investor feedback)
•     Maintaining various information databases and tracking market data

Qualifications:
•     Bachelor’s degree
•     History of outstanding academic achievement
•     Effective presentation, communication and writing skills
•     Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
•     Highly collaborative and motivated to work as part of team
•     Strong quantitative and analytical background; experience in modeling and valuation 
techniques is a plus
•     Demonstrated interest in private equity and other alternative investment strategies

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
