The Office of Regulatory Relations (ORR) was established to drive strategic transformation in how the firm interacts with regulators and executes on remediation. The new division is focused on:
- Creating connectivity across the firm regarding themes in regulator interactions across businesses and risk stripes, enabling a One GS approach
- Ensuring the firm’s responses to regulatory findings comprehensively address root cause, are sustainable, and are carried out appropriately
- Improving regulatory awareness of firm remediation efforts, including proactive changes
- Producing management reporting on regulatory findings and remediation statuses
The Opportunity
The Office of Regulatory Relations is seeking an exceptionally organized, proactive, and detail-oriented assistant supporting the global head of the division. This role demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and adaptability. The assistant will deliver seamless administrative, logistical, and operational support across a wide array of engagements with senior internal stakeholders and significant regulators. The successful candidate will be available from 8am – 6pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Calendar Management: Proactively manage and optimize the division head’s calendar, strategically prioritizing engagements and ensuring coordination across time zones. Anticipate potential conflicts and proactively resolve scheduling challenges.
- Travel Coordination: Plan and execute travel arrangements and adapt itineraries as needed.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Serve as a professional point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing confidential communications, screening correspondence, and prioritizing inquiries with judgment.
- Information Management: Maintain confidential files, records, and databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
- Expense Management: Meticulously process and track expenses, reconcile credit card statements in compliance with company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience providing support to senior leaders in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Prior experience in financial services, consulting, or a related industry is highly desirable.
- Exceptional Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate needs, and proactively adapt to rapidly changing demands. Possess an unwavering commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally
- Proactive Problem-Solving: A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate challenges, identify solutions, and take initiative to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and other relevant software applications. Experience with Concur or similar expense management systems is preferred.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: Unquestionable integrity and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $70000-$110000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
