Job Summary
The Regulatory Reporting group within Controllers Group seeks a VP or experienced Associate to help supervise the SEC Client Asset Protection team. The team calculates the SEC requirement, liaises with Auditors, Regulators, and key internal stakeholders on topics which impact client assets.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Compute and file applicable client asset protection requirements.
- Review trends in the Broker-dealer business for senior management, including the composition of its customer base, the general trading activity of its customers, the types of markets and products traded by its customers, the volatility and liquidity of the markets and products traded by its customers.
- Work closely with external regulators and Internal Audit on examinations of GS & Co.’s SEC Client Asset Protection requirements.
- Work with Engineering teams to enhance controls and streamline processes. Review new products & processes with Operations and Legal Departments which impact
- client assets.
- Document and maintain policies and procedures for Controllers oversight of client asset protection.
- Design processes that are designed to detect and prevent violations of rules and regulations/
- Knowledge of SEC rules and interpretations
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 5 + years of experience; knowledge of SEC Client Asset Protection regulations preferred, but not required
- Committed to a career in financial services.
- Ability to work in a team under pressure.
- Ability to interact and build relationships with people from different departments and levels of seniority.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Solid written and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and control mindset.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $115000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
