Job Description: Principal Technical Program & Project Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Technical Program & Project Manager to lead complex initiatives within our Software Engineering/IT organization. This role demands a seasoned professional with 12-18 years of industry experience, a deep understanding of the full-stack development lifecycle, and proven expertise in integrating with SaaS platforms. The ideal candidate will drive the successful delivery of critical programs and projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and Project Leadership: Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that align with organizational objectives, overseeing multiple project teams to ensure program goals are met. Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs and projects, from conception to launch, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to define scope, deliverables, and resource requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving: Proactively identify, analyze, evaluate, and overcome program and project risks, implementing mitigation plans and producing comprehensive program reports for managers and stakeholders. Possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly broker solutions and resolve conflict situations.
- Process Improvement & Standards: Introduce and maintain organizational standards for satisfaction, quality, and performance. Drive continuous process improvement activities to enhance key performance deliverables and ensure appropriate governance, standards, and quality metrics are applied throughout project delivery.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and lead large, complex delivery teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance. Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, contributing to their professional growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12-18 years of progressive experience in Technical Program Management or Senior Project Management roles within the Software Engineering/IT industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technology projects and programs in fast-paced environments.
- Extensive experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Proven track record of successful program management with SaaS platforms and managing cloud-based solutions.
- Hands-on experience and proficiency with project management and documentation toolkits, including JIRA, Confluence, and MS suite of products.
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes in cross-functional settings.
- Expertise in risk management, budget management, and resource allocation.
