OPERATIONS
Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.
YOUR IMPACT
The AWM Alternative Private Operations team is seeking a professional to support various business lines underneath the Asset & Wealth Management Division Private side. The role entails collaborating with controllers, fund management, technologists and other operational groups on implementing new businesses and products, position creation, journal entries, invoice and tax payments, custody and cash confirmations, financing facility interest calculations, exception management and risk mitigation across the various desks’ investing strategizes.
OUR IMPACT
AWM Alternative Private Operations members are subject matter experts within Operations. The teams sit directly with the desk and support multiple asset types, including Corporate Credit, Corporate Equity, Growth Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate Equity and Real Estate Credit.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Own the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, including management of product development, feature prioritization, release planning, and ongoing product maintenance.
- Break down complex problems and processes into feature components that drive product development and platform extensibility.
- Partner with the Business and Federation to provide subject matter knowledge in effort to facilitate smooth process and transaction flows
- Showcase your attention to detail by ensuring all transactions and positions are processed and correctly captured in relevant systems
- Completing various internal system setups for new transactions
- Escalating to senior team members when items are at risk of not be completed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience (8+ years) in product management within the financial services industry, specifically within asset management or operational platforms.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields is preferred.
- Prior experience/understanding of financial instruments and products
- Prior experience/understanding of Investment Operations or portfolio accounting (ideally within the Asset Management business)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and derive actionable insights from market and usage data.
- Proficiency in collaborating with technical teams, understanding software architecture, and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and delivering software solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of fund products (i.e., private markets, alternative investment funds and registered products) and regulatory environments would be beneficial
- Previous Operations experience
- Accounting background, including booking journal entries, reconciliations, and interest calculations
- Able to grasp new concepts quickly and work in a team environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and adaptability to other software products
