Compensation Accounting is responsible for accounting, reporting and payment of salary, bonus, and other remuneration paid to employees of the firm. We are responsible for the analysis and reporting of wage information and tax payments to domestic tax authorities. We work closely with other areas of the firm including Human Capital Management (“HCM”), Tax, Treasury, Legal and Financial Reporting.
This role is located in Jersey City and will support various aspects of the U.S. payroll operations for a large multi-state payroll.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for ensuring specific aspects of the U.S. payroll are processed timely and accurately through Oracle and ADP applications
- Ensure accurate payroll preparation/processing, tax reporting/compliance and administration of the payroll, including reconciliation of data between payroll and HCM systems
- Perform regular reconciliations and validations on various payroll functions
- Liaise with HCM and other teams on payroll-related activities and projects
- Ensure sound operational controls are maintained and followed in compliance with existing governance
- Respond to ad-hoc queries
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-3 years payroll experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some knowledge of U.S. withholding tax laws and regulations
- Ability to multi-task and remain flexible with continuously changing priorities
- Strong organization and analytical skills
- Extreme attention to detail and the ability to follow a process through to completion
- Experience with Shared Service Center preferred
- Prior Experience with Oracle systems a plus
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $75000-$100000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
