Job Duties: Associate, Risk Governance with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ensure appropriate divisional oversight for the risk profile of business units within the Global Banking & Markets function. Identify risks within the operational risk profile of different business units. Work with line managers, business leads, as well as operations and engineering teams as needed to build infrastructure around both Inherent Risks (IRs) and Residual Risks (RRs). Operate within the risk appetite established by Operational Risk to aid with divisional risk thresholds below Board and Management levels, where appropriate. Assist with maintenance of the divisional operational risk event program, where appropriate. Review Operational Risk Metrics for appropriateness to quantitatively measure risk and control performance. Assist with identifying operational tail risks for scenario development and manage operational tail risks in line with the Firm’s risk appetite and propose risk decisions. Report on operational risk exposures, including both inherent and residual risks, operational loss events, control deficiencies and/or process inadequacies, and any relevant breaches of operational risk appetite. Develop and implement business intelligence solutions to support quantitative analysis for risk identification, measurement, and reporting, using tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, or Python. Analyze large datasets and develop reporting and visualization of data.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience (with a Master’s degree) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) with: Operational risk processes including Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs); Advanced Microsoft Excel to manipulate and organize data; utilizing business analytics tools including Alteryx to compile and organize data for management reporting; Data visualization tools including Tableau; utilizing a programming language including Python; and utilizing Structured query language (SQL).
