YOUR IMPACT
We seek an experienced and qualified client onboarding and data maintenance regulatory compliance expert (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Client / Customer Due Diligence (KYC/AML/CDD)) to lead our newly established Audit Response team. This role will own relationships with internal and external auditors as well as facilitate the audit responses for all client onboarding and client identification program functions.

In addition, Wealth Management Operations provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm’s assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched, or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Operations that develops the processes and controls that makes business flow. 

The Audit Response team facilitates internal and external exams focused on client data, client onboarding, and client identification program. The Audit Response team also provides guidance on assessing whether client onboarding and client identification program controls are sufficient and working as intended, whether operating procedures are being performed consistently and efficiently, and whether activities follow regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Is the single global accountable owner for all client onboarding an client identification program audit and exam responses (external and internal) 
  • Sets communication strategy with external regulators
  • Is an expert on regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies pertaining to client onboarding and client identification processes
  • Owns primary relationship with Internal Audit for client onboarding and client identification program functions as well as Compliance groups for Regulatory engagements
  • Maintain awareness of Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance policy updates and incorporates the process and procedural changes in the KYC review process
  • Ensures training to Operations team on with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies, including coaching the junior team members and providing guidance. 
  • Coordinates with Goldman Sachs divisions to understand Audit findings that can be applied to Wealth Management
  • Grows an Audit Remediation specialist team focused on: 
    • Guiding accurate and complete fieldwork and responses for internal audit and regulatory exams and inquiries
    • Drafting responses for internal audit and regulatory exams and inquiries
    • Coordinating subject matter expert review of responses for internal audit and regulatory exams and inquiries
    • Collating material and messaging for various leadership forums and postings
    • Developing recommendations on process improvements based on regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
       

Requirements:

  • +10 years of relevant work experience in client data compliance expert (e.g.,Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Client / Customer Due Diligence (KYC/AML/CDD)  
  • Ability to own primary relationship senior leadership, Internal Audit, and Regulators
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, attention to detail and risk focused mind set
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Overall understanding of the client lifecycle process and various types of account structures
  • Ability to interpret and excellent understanding of end-to-end KYC/CDD policy, procedure requirements & terminologies
  • Absolute discretion when dealing with confidential matters
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly
  • Team player with flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral
  • Meticulous, couples with the ability to work under pressure and tight timeline
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) 
     

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$235000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
