Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring political, policy and regulatory developments which may impact the firm and its clients
  • Reporting on geopolitical developments and providing insight for internal stakeholders as well as clients, where appropriate
  • Analysing regulatory policy proposals, the impact on our business, and creating related advocacy strategies to influence policy development
  • Leading GS efforts to contribute to China's financial market reforms bilaterally, through trade associations, and in cooperation with business Chambers
  • Preparing briefings and presentations for internal stakeholders, including management and key business areas
  • Project managing and supporting the execution of Government Affairs regional strategic initiatives
  • Tracking external engagements, undertaking analysis, and providing team updates
  • Developing working relationships with counterparts in other teams in the Executive Office and other divisions across the firm to ensure close coordination

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • A strong academic record coupled with a ‘can do attitude’
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin, including excellent PowerPoint skills and the ability to articulate and describe complex issues in a precise manner
  • Knowledge and experience of the firm's regulatory environment
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, with first rate organizational skills, including the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet multiple, competing deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while taking responsibility to drive work forward
  • A genuine interest in political/ policy / regulatory developments
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work with internal stakeholders of differing seniority
