Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm’s business. Controllers also ensure that the firm’s activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.  The Divisional Management Reporting Controllers Team is seeking an Associate level hire.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

• Prepare/review daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly / yearly P&L for Global Banking & Markets segment

• Review data to be submitted for regulatory reporting requirements 

• Prepare/review monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including analysis of P&L drivers for internal and external reporting

• Prepare various 10-Q/K and earnings release disclosures

• Summarize segment results / analytics for various earnings release schedules including ensuring accuracy of segment results for external reporting, as well as presenting to Controllers senior management

• Liaise with Product Controllers and Global Banking & Markets Division management team to facilitate understanding and reporting of desk transactions and ensure overall accuracy and integrity of the segment reporting process

• Month-end reconciliations to the general ledger

• Participate in automation projects and leverage self-service tools to improve operating efficiencies and enhance existing workflows 

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience (Associate)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Accounting, Economics or Finance degree preferred, but not required

• CPA or CFA preferred, but not required

• Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to clearly articulate ideas

• Highly motivated and adaptable; the ability to work on a global team of diverse individuals

• Proactive; the ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment

• Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity

• Keen interest in financial markets

• Knowledge of desktop applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
