Controllers Divisional Overview: 

Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm’s business. Controllers also ensure that the firm’s activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets. 


AWM Corporate Controllers:

A group within the broader Controllers organization responsible for p&l and asset reporting and analysis as well as financial and management reporting related to the Asset & Wealth Management businesses. The group is responsible for monitoring the launches of new products within the businesses to ensure their impacts are properly reflected within both internal and external reporting. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop a broad understanding of the Asset & Wealth Management businesses and related products, data flows and accounting procedures.
  • Assist in the assessment of accounting consolidation of AWM fund vehicles and accounting oversight for related p&l, balance sheet and disclosures reporting as legal entity controller. 
  • Review revenue contracts to ensure recognition is in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Control of the firm’s books and records through monthly p&l and balance sheet booking, general ledger tie-out and reconciliation, and balance sheet substantiation. 
  • Prepare and review management reports and analysis to highlight specific p&l drivers, revenue trends and key business metrics.
  • Participation in cross-functional projects and various ad-hoc data requests.
  • Manage and lead junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in public and/or private accounting
  • MS Office knowledge (Excel, Word) required
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communications skills
  • Detail-oriented and pro-active, self-starter mentality 
  • Ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects under challenging deadlines while focusing on the quality of work delivered

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
