Overview

Execute high priority and complex projects for the firm by using best-in-class project management skills and strong working knowledge of financial services and operational processes.  The role creates an opportunity to lead and deliver key cross functional projects for the firm, engaging at all stages of the project life-cycle.

The role is located in Salt Lake City as part of the Implementation and Execution Office within the Office of Regulatory Relations. You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for executing strategic projects to advance the firm’s priorities and deliver impactful revenue, risk and control, regulatory and efficiency opportunities. Using effective program delivery methods, functional and technical expertise, and stakeholder management skills, this team provides senior management with execution capabilities to deliver their most complex projects. 

This role is a Traditional Project Manager - Non Technical. This role will initially focus on a regulatory program where you will contribute to the delivery of a multi-year strategic initiative.  By performing the role, the candidate will acquire detailed knowledge of multiple areas within the firm. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Project planning and execution: assist in the development and management of project plans for regulatory remediation efforts, including scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Stakeholder management: coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to facilitate remediation efforts and communicate progress
  • Risk Management: identify risks and issues associated with remediation projects, implementing mitigation strategies as needed
  • Audit Preparedness: ensure that remediation projects are prepared for internal and external audit, maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of remediation activities
  • Monitoring and Reporting: track project progress, prepare status reports, and summarize key activities for senior management and stakeholders
  • Documentation: maintain comprehensive documentation of remediation activities, including issue tracking, action plans, and outcomes
  • Preparing materials for working groups and committees, project dashboards, presentations, etc.
  • Conducting detailed problem tracking, resolution and completion of all actions and issues by their deadlines
  • Supporting teams with best practices, program-wide tools, dashboards and other enablers 

Skills and Experience:

  • 2 to 6 years of experience with the below:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (traditional, non-tech) and meet competing deadlines – project management skills
  • Drive, motivation and resilience – ability to handle multiple tasks, taking initiative to improve performance, working intensely towards goals and persisting in the face of obstacles or setbacks
  • Ability to develop relationships across divisions
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, encourages other team members and acknowledges others' contributions
  • Exceptional attention to detail  
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to create and structure messages to senior audiences  
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and MS Excel skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate activities with multiple interdependencies across a number of GS internal teams. 
  • Creativity and innovation, with an ability to critically examine current processes to propose and develop improvements
  • Ideally a strong understanding of financial concepts, products and services
