Corporate Treasury lies at the heart of Goldman Sachs, ensuring that all parts of the firm have appropriate levels of funding, while also optimizing liquidity and managing risk. As part of the engineering team, you will have a front-row seat to everything important that is happening within the firm. We collaborate with the firm's treasurer and senior leadership to manage liquidity risk, oversee both secured and unsecured funding programs, and regulate the level and composition of consolidated and subsidiary equity capital. The scale and complexity of the liquidity optimization problem keeps us engaged every day and we hope to share this enthusiasm with you.
Your impact
In this role, you will gain unique insights into the firm's business operations and asset strategy. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing software to analyze data, building metric calculators, and creating automated tools. These tools will assist the business in deriving insights from data, predicting scenarios, and making informed decisions to reduce the firm's interest expenses.
How you will fulfill your potential
- Work with our business partners to understand financial markets and enhance our liquidity management systems.
- Understand the business needs, data requirements, and specifications required to implement solutions.
- Apply analytics to drive commercial outcomes and communicate with precision and clarity.
- Explore the latest technology offerings and platforms to strategize and build optimal solutions.
- Implement quantitative and technical risk management solutions in software.
- Design and build software following the full SDLC.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – a demonstrated ability to learn technologies and apply them.
- Comfortable with multitasking, managing multiple stakeholders, and working as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globally.
- An entrepreneurial approach and passion for problem solving and product development.
Preferred qualifications
- Programming experience in at least one compiled language (Java, C#, C++, etc.).
- Experience building stream-processing applications (Spark, Apache Flink, Kafka, etc.).
- Experience in designing highly scalable and efficient systems.
- Web technology design experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial markets, financial assets, and liquidity management is a plus.
