Role Summary
The Private Investors Product Group (PIPG) is part of the Global Banking and Markets (GBM Public) and focuses on the creation, market making, distribution, and trading of Securitized & OTC Derivatives and Structured products. Its main client base are private banks, retail banks, online brokers, and other distributors that provide structured solutions to high net worth and retail investors.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing complex software applications, and a strong background in computer science or a related field. The successful candidate will collaborate with sales, traders, origination, strats and operations teams to develop innovative solutions to meet business needs and will be responsible for building and maintaining highly reliable and scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain complex software systems and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to gather requirements and define technical solutions.
- Be involved with all stages of the software development life cycle with a range of technologies to support the underlying infrastructure and frameworks.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, including design specifications, user guides and manuals.
- Work closely with sales, trading, origination and operations teams, support our automated issuance, trade and lifecycle management systems.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of software systems.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- Strong programming skills in an object oriented or functional paradigm, with strength in Java, Python and its core concepts.
- 2+ years of software development experience.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance.
- Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a global team.
- Self-starter who can work with minimum guidance, ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with large scale timeseries and dimensional data.
- Previous quantitative or technical role working on or with a derivatives market making desk (irrespective of asset class),
- Knowledge of building automated systems involving large scale of data.
- Experience with Secdb/Java.
- Experience with real-time systems/messaging infrastructures
- Familiarity with build/deployment/runtime tools e.g., Gradle, Maven, Git, Spring, Kubernetes
