FICC SMM is a cross-asset systematic market making business covering FX, commodities, interest rates, and credit. As a forefront player in automated trading, we adeptly manage both financial and operational risks to drive success. We are seeking a highly skilled Quant Researcher / Strategist in Hong Kong, specializing in FX, to enhance our spot and forward eTrading operations.
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in advancing our trading and risk management frameworks, spearheading innovative research and development of market-making strategies. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in expanding our client franchise within the region, working closely with our Trading and Sales teams to deliver exceptional value and service.

Principal Responsibilities
- Close collaboration with SMM FX trading to develop systems and infrastructure to drive the SMM FX business
- Conduct research and development of market making strategies
- Analysis of our pricing and hedging including analysis of large data sets to drive strategic improvements to our electronic trading
- Work productively with people across the firm including sales, tech, trading, operations
- Understand the regulatory and supervisory environment and demonstrate ownership of our obligations and responsibilities under this.
Experience/Skills
- Proven ability to analyze data and draw useful commercial conclusions
- Proficiency in C++/Java or other object oriented programming languages, Python and SQL is a plus.
- Working experience with large data and machine learning experience is a plus.
- Track record of learning new skills and adapting to new technologies
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively within team and with other parts of the firm, e.g. voice trading, other technology teams and functions like economic research which have varying levels of technical knowledge
- Demonstrated understanding of and engineering of a safe operating environment, particularly regarding the control environment around electronic trading
