The XIG Platform Management team broadly is responsible for portfolio implementation and trading, liquidity management, executing equity and currency hedging programs, portfolio construction and monitoring, external manager on-boarding, product development and launch, private market deal closings, overseeing the business control framework as well as multiple strategic initiatives. The team works in concert with the investment teams within XIG, and with functional teams across the AWM division including Central Trading, Fund Accounting, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Compliance. Within Platform Management, specific teams focus on discrete fund management activities such as external manager onboarding.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Participate in hedge fund portfolio implementation and trading functions within the XIG public markets platform. Including execution of capital activity, counterparty oversight, tracking and verifying all investment activity, and enhancing existing framework.
  • Manage activities across multiple teams to manage the capital activity life cycle of hybrid private equity / hedge fund vehicles.
  • Support the liquidity analysis process, cash projections, credit facility management, capital activity planning, investment liquidity tracking, portfolio expense analysis and others.
  • Manage investor facing capital call process for hybrid PE / HF vehicles to meet commitment obligations to underlying funds.
  • Coordinate response to external hedge fund manager elections / restructurings.
  • Direct internal and external processes to ensure subscriptions and capital calls are actioned accurately.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external service providers in the launch of new portfolios of hedge funds and investment structures, and client on-boarding activities to maximize operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Significant interaction with senior members across the XIG hedge fund investment team, GSAM Federation and external investment managers. Responsible for building and maintaining external manager relationships throughout all investment communication and information collection activities.
  • Active involvement in strategic projects that span multiple functional areas.
  • Respond to both ongoing and ad-hoc requests from the various business areas within the XIG organization.
  • Issues tracking and resolution.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2-4 years overall experience in a relevant role. 
  • Desire to develop an in-depth understanding of investment structures and platforms, instruments traded and XIG and external manager operations.
  • Ability to manage time sensitive and business critical initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to oversee production of a high volume of quality work within tight timeframes.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
