EXECUTIVE OFFICE

The Corporate Communications team within the Executive Office of Goldman Sachs seeks to promote and protect the firm's culture, brand and reputation. The Associate – Media Relations role is part of the Corporate Communications team, helping to develop and implement a range of media strategies and communications tools.

The Executive Office is a group of diverse teams that shapes corporate strategy, culture, and brand. Whether communicating with employees, managing our brand, or articulating our strategy to investors and analysts, our work directly impacts how the firm is viewed by a variety of crucial stakeholders. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help develop and execute proactive media engagement programs across various banking businesses and executive office functions, such as technology or community engagement
  • Lead the development of written materials including press releases, talking points, briefings and statements 
  • Collaborate with other Executive Office functions to handle corporate issues for the firm in a holistic manner
  • Maintain and develop relationships with reporters at target publications 
  • Contribute to media monitoring, analysis and reporting processes to provide timely updates and insights to senior leadership

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong written and verbal skills with a demonstrable passion for communications and knowledge of the media landscape
  • 4-8 years of experience in communications at a financial services firm, technology company or public relations agency with related clients
  • Experience working directly with reporters and editors at top-tier or trade news outlets
  • Ability to work on the usual media-related daily deadlines and manage your own internal timelines, while maintaining high standards and attention to detail. 
  • Enthusiastic – high energy, team-oriented with a well-organised “can do” approach
  • Skilled writer and editor with outstanding attention to detail; experience crafting and editing high-quality strategic communications for internal (C-Suite) and external audiences. 
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and a personal reputation for honesty, integrity, and above-reproach ethics. 
  • Basic proficiency in Smartsheet, Sharepoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience with media monitoring tools such as Muckrack, Memo, Factiva or related platforms. 
 

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
