Role Overview 

  • Support & help drive broader sustainability initiatives through the Value Accelerator (a proprietary network of professional operating advisors and resources focused on value-creation for GS Asset & Wealth Management (“AWM”) Private portfolio companies), including tracking value-created as a result of key sustainability initiatives, development of training materials for portfolio companies, and organization of the sustainability vertical 
  • Support Goldman Sachs AWM Private in delivering on its inclusive growth commitments, with a focus on board and management diversity, employee engagement, DEI tools, broad-based ownership, best practices and support for portfolio companies
  • This role will report to the Head of Sustainability & Impact for AWM Private, Americas and work closely with deal teams, portfolio companies, and the Value Accelerator 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify resources to support key initiatives and create best practice playbooks for each core initiative to kick-start portfolio company efforts and give companies a guide of how to begin/level up existing processes
  • Develop tracking processes to quantify value-creation of sustainability initiatives implemented across portfolio companies
  • Support the development of a network of sustainability professionals across the AWM Private portfolio and keep them updated on key industry initiatives and value-creation opportunities
  • Working with leadership of the AWM Private Sustainability & Impact team, determine key inclusive growth priorities for AWM Private
  • Work closely with deal teams on portfolio company value-creation work as it pertains to inclusive growth, including compiling best practices across different inclusive growth initiatives and supporting communications and case studies, planning webinars for portfolio companies on key initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with ESG Business Leads and Alternative Capital Markets & Strategy Group (ACMS) on inclusive growth commitments for new funds and processes to track compliance with these commitments and KPIs of key initiatives 
  • Collaborate with the ESG Business Leads to monitor and track inclusive growth KPIs and program progress against key inclusive growth priorities
  • Support the development of inclusive growth communication materials, including internal newsletters and training programs

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and key skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, 3-5 years of experience
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented and organized with strong professional writing and presentation-creation skills
  • Thorough, mature, and professional
  • Able to manage various stakeholders, within AWM Private and more broadly, across GS 
  • A commitment to excellence, integrity and collaboration is a must 
  • Bachelor's Degree with a general preference for concentrations in Business Administration, Accounting, or Sustainability 
  • Experience in driving sustainability programs within a business context
  • Experience with ESG KPIs/metrics preferred 
  • Experience in Private Equity investing/industry a bonus
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word with some awareness of business intelligence software and software tools 

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
